Climbing for all

We are working together to bring down the barriers to climbing
Quick Intro

What is Climbing Commons?

We're a community bouldering wall in Stroud. We run a unique model where we can make climbing within reach of more people. This is achieved using a commons model where the facility is owned and run by its members. Every pound stays in the community.

Our model

A bouldering wall as a commons

Over the next year, Climbing Commons will transition to full community ownership, governed under the commons principles. Possibly the first bouldering wall of its kind. When you become a member, you have a say in how the project develops.

Staffed hours are currently limited — all sessions are run by community volunteers. We built our hybrid staffed/unstaffed model deliberately to understand usage before committing to paid staffing. Hours will increase as our paid and volunteer pipeline grows. Want to help build the schedule? Join the volunteer WhatsApp →
